Planning a kitchen or home remodeling project comes with a lot of questions, and we're here to help. Below are some of the questions we hear most often. If you don't see your question here, we'd be happy to talk through your project.
How long does the consultation take?
Our initial consultation typically takes about one hour. During this time, we’ll discuss your goals, ideas, budget, timeline, and how you want your space to function. This gives us the opportunity to better understand your needs and begin creating a design plan tailored specifically to your home and lifestyle.
What if I just want you to design my kitchen and I build it?
We do offer design-only services for homeowners who plan to manage construction themselves or work with another contractor. Our goal is to provide you with a well-thought-out design that maximizes your space and reflects your vision. We'll discuss your project during your consultation to determine which services are the best fit for your needs.
How long does the desgin stage take?
Every project is unique, so the design timeline depends on the size and complexity of your remodel, as well as how quickly decisions are made throughout the process. Most design phases take anywhere from a few weeks to several weeks. We take the time to understand your goals, refine the details, and ensure every element is thoughtfully planned before construction begins.
Do you offer design consultations?
Yes! Every great project starts with a conversation. During your consultation, we'll discuss your ideas, goals, budget, and how you use your space. This is an opportunity for us to learn about your project, answer your questions, and begin exploring design possibilities tailored to your home and lifestyle.
Do you sell your custom design plans?
Yes. If you're interested in purchasing custom design plans without moving forward with construction through Kitchens That Work, we'd be happy to discuss that option. We'll explain what's included, how the plans can be used, and answer any questions you have before moving forward.
Will you work with a design of mine?
Absolutely. If you've already created a layout, collected inspiration, or worked with another designer, we're happy to review your ideas. We can build from your existing plans, offer recommendations, or make adjustments to improve functionality while staying true to your vision.
What If I'm not ready to make design choices yet?
That's completely okay. Many homeowners come to us knowing they want a better space but aren't sure exactly what they want it to look like. We'll guide you through the process step by step, helping you explore layouts, materials, finishes, and features at a comfortable pace so you can make confident decisions without feeling overwhelmed.
